There's a Lot to Gain from Modern ATC
U.S. passenger and cargo airlines have been among the most vocal advocates for air traffic control (ATC) modernization. For good reason. They have a lot to gain in the form of a more efficient system in which to safely operate their flights. And there’s a lot of those - 27,000 commercial flights every day.
The key to significant airspace modernization is replacing the 10 programs in the current ATC automation system with one solution: a single automation platform. Airlines would benefit in numerous ways, including:
▶️ Continuous descent operations and trajectory-based flight profiles;
▶️ Improved sequencing and merging tools for runway and airspace efficiency;
▶️ More accurate slotting and metering of their aircraft;
▶️ Real-time flight data sharing with dispatchers, ATC and airline operation control.
Better on-time performance benefits everyone, including the airlines, their customers, and the U.S. economy. This is a goal we can reach.
